Club Fair 2025: Energize, Engage, Empower – Introducing Hult Prize at NCKU

Sep 18, 2025

Overview

The NCKU Club Fair is the university’s annual showcase, giving student organizations the opportunity to introduce their missions, recruit members, and engage with the campus community of over 20,000 students.

During the two-day event (September 17-18), the Hult Prize at NCKU committee set up an interactive booth to energize, engage, and empower students through fun challenges, reflection activities, and informative presentations on the Hult Prize and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over the course of the fair, the committee interacted with approximately 600–700 students, who played SDG mini games, shared their ideas on the reflection wall, and followed the committee’s social media channels. The combination of playfulness and purpose successfully raised awareness, inspired creativity, and invited students to participate in upcoming workshops and competitions.

Booth Setup & Welcome

Committee members arrived early (17:30–18:00) to prepare the booth with vibrant visuals, Hult Prize banners, SDG icons, and a reflection board titled “If you have $1 million to change the world…”. A lottery box containing SDG flashcards and souvenirs such as stickers, folders, and pins added to the interactive experience.

From 18:00 onwards, students were greeted with energy and warmth, with committee members guiding them to reflect on the $1 million question before the formal introduction. This approach sparked curiosity and engagement from the very beginning.

Introduction to Hult Prize & SDGs

Visitors were given a concise overview of the Hult Prize, often called the “Nobel Prize for Students”:

  1. It is the world’s largest student competition for social entrepreneurship.

  2. The winning team receives $1 million USD in seed funding.

  3. The competition progresses through multiple stages: campus → nationals → digital incubator → global accelerator → global finals.

  4. The 2025–2026 theme, “Unlimited Impact,” was presented.

Members emphasized that the focus is on ideas and creativity, not English proficiency, and highlighted how upcoming workshops would support teams in preparing their pitches.

SDGs Mini Challenge

Students were invited to participate in a short interactive game:

  1. Draw a numbered ball from the lottery box.

  2. Answer the corresponding Hult Prize or SDG flashcard question.

  3. Receive a souvenir for correct or close answers.

This activity generated excitement while encouraging students to engage directly with the SDGs.

Reflection Activity

Following the mini challenge, students contributed their ideas on sticky notes, responding to prompts such as:

  • “If you had $1 million today, what business idea would you start to save the earth?”

  • “Which global problem would you want to solve?”

Responses were posted on a large reflection board, creating a collective vision wall that showcased student creativity and social awareness.

Call to Action

Committee members guided students to:

  • Scan QR codes for instant registration and updates.

  • Follow Hult Prize at NCKU on Instagram, Facebook, and Line.

  • Learn about upcoming events: Public Introduction (Sep 27), Workshops 1–3, Mentorship Week, and the Final Competition.

Past winners, including EcoFitae and Renaisun, were highlighted to inspire participants and illustrate the potential impact of engagement.

Freestyle Interaction

Depending on interest levels, committee members provided further details about past winners, upcoming workshops, and team formation. For more hesitant students, the team encouraged casual social media follows with no pressure. This flexible approach ensured that both curious and shy participants felt welcomed and included.

Conclusion

The Hult Prize booth at NCKU’s Club Fair successfully energized, engaged, and empowered students, combining fun, reflection, and information to raise awareness of social entrepreneurship and the SDGs. Through games, interactive activities, and personal interactions, the committee inspired the next generation of social innovators to take action and make a meaningful impact.
