Workshop 3: Unlock the Secret, The Art of Powerful Pitching & Storytelling
Nov 9, 2025

Arrival & Check-in
Participants arrived at Atelier Future shortly before 13:30, greeted by the registration team and guided through a smooth check-in process. Name tags were distributed, light music played in the background, and the screen showcased Hult Prize highlight videos and global success stories. Students settled in, took photos, and chatted before the workshop officially began at 13:40.
Opening Remarks
Eugene, Campus Director of Hult Prize @ NCKU, welcomed attendees and introduced the global mission of the Hult Prize. He reminded participants of the upcoming deadlines for team registration (Nov 15) and abstract submission (Nov 15–20).
To energize the room, he led a call-and-response:
“We are — Changemakers!”, sparking excitement and setting the tone for the day.
Agenda Brief
MCs walked participants through the afternoon program, emphasizing storytelling and pitching as essential skills for building impactful ventures. Students were placed into small teams for activities, and with a final cheer of “Let’s unlock the secret!”, the workshop officially kicked off.
Icebreaker: Mini Tank Pitch
The “Mini Tank Pitch” activity immediately energized the room.
Each team drew a random object — such as an eco-friendly umbrella or AI toothbrush — and had three minutes to prepare a fun 30-second pitch.
Teams delivered creative, humorous presentations that impressed the audience. The most creative pitch was voted on, with the winning team receiving small prizes.
The activity reminded participants that pitching blends imagination, clarity, and persuasion.
Speaker Session 1
Make Them Care — How to Tell Stories People Remember
The first speaker, Mr. Hanson, delivered a lively and humorous session focused on storytelling as a core entrepreneurial skill.
He highlighted three central points:
Positivity builds connection
Confidence matters more than perfect wording
Stories move people more than facts
During the Story Remix activity, teams transformed simple facts into narrative-style messages. Hanson provided feedback on how emotional storytelling makes ideas more memorable.
He concluded with his signature message:
“Emotion creates motion. When people feel, they move.”

Speaker Session 2
Sell the Dream — Pitching with Power and Presence
The second session, led by Mr. Ankur Tripathi, focused on transforming stories into powerful, convincing pitches.
His key takeaways:
A pitch is a performance of belief
The Seven-Block Pitch Framework
Presence creates credibility
Overcoming nervousness
Authenticity beats technology
He closed with a powerful reminder:
“AI can generate slides — but it cannot replace sincerity. The real differentiator in any pitch is you.”
Teams then practiced a short pitch simulation using the seven-block framework, followed by constructive feedback.
The session wrapped up with applause and renewed confidence across the room.

Feedback, Lucky Draw & Closing Acknowledgment
As the workshop drew to a close, participants were invited to complete the feedback survey, offering insights to help enhance future Hult Prize activities. A light-hearted lucky draw added excitement to the end of the afternoon, with cheers and laughter filling the room as winners were announced. In the final wrap-up, the organizing team expressed appreciation to the partners and collaborators whose support made the workshop possible, acknowledging their contribution to empowering student innovators. The event concluded with a group photo and an informal networking session, leaving participants inspired, energized, and eager to apply their new storytelling and pitching skills on the Hult Prize stage.
