Oct 12, 2025

Event Overview

The first workshop of the Hult Prize at NCKU, themed “Designing the Future – Business Models for Social Innovation & UN 2.0,” was held on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, from 13:30 to 17:30 at Atelier Future. Organized in collaboration with SDSN, Sino Bank, and Atelier Future, the event aimed to help students explore how innovative business models can drive social impact. Through a mix of keynote talks, group exercises, interactive activities, and networking, participants gained both theoretical understanding and practical experience with the Business Model Canvas (BMC) and the UN 2.0 framework.

Agenda Brief

The hosts opened the afternoon by walking participants through the workshop flow and objectives. This introduction helped students understand how the BMC and the SDGs would be incorporated into each session, setting a clear structure for the activities ahead.

Icebreaker: Human Bingo

To warm up the room, participants played Human Bingo, a fast-paced activity designed to spark conversations and build rapport. The space quickly filled with laughter and movement as students interacted with new peers, creating an open and energetic learning environment from the start.

Speaker Session 1 – Dr. Angélica Urbina

The first keynote was delivered by Dr. Angélica Urbina, CEO and Founder of FABRECO, who introduced the Business Model Canvas as a tool for social innovation. She explained its nine building blocks and illustrated how social enterprises use the framework to develop impactful, sustainable ventures.
During the group exercise, participants worked together to create their own BMCs and delivered short pitches, receiving practical and insightful feedback from Dr. Urbina.

Speaker Session 2 – I-Chih Yu

The second keynote, presented by I-Chih Yu, COO and Co-Founder of Mutahead, centered on UN 2.0 and the Future of Impactful Entrepreneurship. He outlined the five pillars of UN 2.0 and offered examples of how young founders can integrate innovation, digital transformation, and sustainability into their business ideas.
In the follow-up activity, students revisited their earlier business models, evaluating their alignment with the SDGs and refining them to achieve stronger long-term impact.

Wrap-up

Before the closing remarks, attendees filled out a feedback form to share their thoughts on the workshop. A small lucky draw added an element of fun and excitement, leaving participants with a memorable final impression of the afternoon.

The workshop concluded with closing remarks and a group photo to capture the day’s energy and collaboration. The organizing team also extended gratitude to Atelier Future, Sino Bank, SDSN, and all supporting partners whose contributions made the event possible.
Participants left with new knowledge, expanded networks, and renewed motivation to continue developing impactful ideas through the Hult Prize journey.
